Moms working from home need child care, too!
We have noticed a wonderful new trend at Cranfield Academy. We have recently enrolled many families who have a Mom or Dad who is working from home, but finds that they need either part time or full time care for their children during their work week. Cranfield Academy welcomes these wonderful families and strives to meet their needs.
Learning Gardens!
Mr. Todd has just installed our new Learning Gardens at Cranfield Academy Providence! Come visit us this Spring to see our Young Threes grow their Flower Garden, our Threes/Fours grow their Butterfly Garden (complete with a new Butterfly House!) and our Transitional Kindergarten grow their Pizza Garden (we're growing everything but the dough!).
Grand Opening Monday, August 16th
We have passed all inspections, and are officially licensed by the North Carolina Division of Child Development. Our wonderful new Director, Shannon Von Kaenel, and Laura Pace will be at Cranfield Academy Providence from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. the week of August 9th, and will be hosting an Open House on Thursday the 12th from noon to 6, and Saturday August 14th from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

We are currently accepting enrollment applications for children ranging in age from 6 weeks to 12 years old. We will be providing both before and after school care for children who attend Polo Ridge Elementary, and also providing full day care during Teacher Workdays, holidays and summers. Cranfield Academy Closing in on Milestone of Service
Providing premier early childhood education in the South Charlotte area has become a passion for Todd and Laura Pace, owners of Cranfield Academy. The couple, parents of three children, started Cranfield Academy in 2000 at their current location on Carmel Commons Blvd. As the Academy approaches its tenth year in service, Todd and Laura Pace are looking forward to another successful decade of not only serving the South Charlotte community from their current location, but also expanding into a second location by late 2010. “We cannot believe that it has been almost ten years since we began this business, and we have seen so many wonderful children come through our programs,” said Todd Pace. “We pride ourselves in being true on-site owners who are based locally in the South Charlotte area. One of the really fun things about running the Academy is seeing children that have graduated our program excel in school and get accepted to top private schools in the area.” Cranfield Academy has received several awards for outstanding childcare throughout their tenure in the Charlotte community, also achieving a Four Star rating from the State of North Carolina Division of Child Development. In addition, during a surprise inspection from the NC Division of Child Development they received a superior rating with a 100% perfect score. About Us:
We founded Cranfield Academy after experiencing the concerns that all parents have when entrusting their children to outside caregivers. Our experience convinced us that parents needed better options in child care. This desire formed into Cranfield Academy - a place which would not only meet the physical needs of children but would also nurture their emotional and cognitive development. This is the academy in which we entrust our young son Zachary and daughters Delaney and Anikka.
Laura earned a B.A. in English Literature from Wheaton College and a Masters of Education from the University of Southern California. She has more than 12 years experience in education. Todd earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Redlands and has over 10 years management experience.
We enjoy splashing around Lake Wylie with our extended family, playing golf (albeit mostly miniature golf these days!) and exploring the back roads of the Carolinas. We promise to be active on-site owners who are very interested in operating the premiere child care and preschool in Charlotte. We count it a privilege to share in your lives and in the lives of your children.
