100% Perfect Unannounced Inspection

Each year Cranfield Academy is inspected by many different governmental agencies, including the NC Department of Health & Sanitation, the Charlotte Mecklenburg Fire Department and the NC Division of Child Development. The most crucial of these is the NC Division of Child Development, which can arrive for a surprise inspection at time of year. The Consultant arrives unannounced, and proceeds to go through every room in the building, and can inspect any and all cabinets, cupboards, rooms, playgrounds, etc. Then the Consultant will inspect every child and staff file. Our average staff file contains more than 30 forms, all of which must be complete within a specified period of time. The rules and regulations that we must follow are contained in a law book that has more than 200 pages!

During our surprise inspection January 25, 2010 the Consultant found ZERO violations. In fact, during the last three years two of our three inspections had zero violations. (One year we only had paperwork in one teacher’s file where two forms were not submitted on time). We are very proud of our Director, Kathy Bennett, and our wonderful teaching staff for running such an excellent early childhood education program while complying with a myriad of rules and regulations. Cranfield Academy is truly a premiere child care and preschool!
