Our Day

Cranfield Academy opens each day at 7:00 a.m. with complimentary fresh brewed coffee for our parents. We encourage you to bring your child each day by 9:00 a.m. At that time, our children will enjoy a nutritious morning snack. After eating, the children will enjoy morning group time.

Infants

Our infant program provides the foundation for future language and social development. A consistent primary caregiver interacts with your child on a daily basis. This primary caregiver will form a special bond not only with your child but will also work to support you as a parent. In our unique infant suite, your child is encouraged to explore. Beginning with a soft and safe indoor play area and moving to a specially designed shaded outdoor terrace, your infant interacts and discovers the wonders of the world. Your baby is not just fed, changed and cuddled but is also exposed to classical music and age appropriate play activities. For your child's well-being, our infant suites are kept pristine through the use of HEPA filters for clean air and the maintenance of a shoeless environment. Parents are encouraged to visit at any time, and nursing mothers have a special quiet place to feed their baby.

Toddlers

Using a variety of hands-on toys and activities, our toddler teachers encourage your child to learn through hands-on play, to solve problems through experimentation and to begin to develop language skills. Our daily curriculum provides music, story time, rhyming and a short group time. In addition, our unique shaded outdoor terrace provides busy toddlers a chance to participate in outdoor activities and use riding toys that develop coordination and encourage sharing. Our teachers encourage your child to explore, take small risks and become more self-confident in this busy stage of life.

Twos

Your two year old child has a naturally strong curiosity about the expanding world, so he or she will be introduced to a wealth of classic children's stories, nursery rhymes and literature during a daily story time.  At this age, children want to exert control. Therefore, children begin to direct some activities through free choice learning centers, which include puzzles, age appropriate toys, dramatic play, water play, blocks and art.  Your child is encouraged to utilize budding language skills by singing songs and participating in group discussions. As a parent, you will be encouraged to continue their learning process by receiving a daily activities sheet which will let you follow along with the lesson plan.

Preschool

As your three year old child grows, so does his need for a preschool program to support not only intellectual development but also emotional and physical growth. Your child will continue his learning journey through letters and numbers and our literature rich curriculum. As a parent, you will be enabled to enhance the learning program at home through daily lesson plans, art projects and educational materials. Since preschoolers are eager to grasp new concepts, our faculty will form the daily curriculum around a preschooler's ever changing interests. In accordance with a growing desire for independence, your child's daily routine includes not only toileting activities, washing hands and a nutritious lunch and snack time, but also self-directed activities during free time each day. Our preschool program also introduces your child to the wonders of computers and learning through fun hands-on educational software programs.

Transitional Kindergarten

This four year old program prepares your child for a budding academic career. In Cranfield Academy's educationally rich Transitional Kindergarten program, your child will participate in literature, math, science, art and manipulatives. Your child's curriculum is complemented with award winning educational software programs and basic Spanish language classes at no extra charge. Your child's social skills are developed in a daily group sharing and discussion time. Our Transitional Kindergarteners will, with your permission, participate in off campus field trips and other curriculum related adventures.

Day End

At the end of the day, we acknowledge that all adults involved in the raising of children will be tired. To make a parent's day a bit easier, an optional fruit snack for your child will be available at the front counter each day.  These conveniences allow your child to have a healthy snack at hand and reduce the need to run an errand before you go home.
